A big thank you to the Screwfix Foundation team for the recent news of our application being accepted. We initially applied for some work within our Hartlepool Unit which is what this funding will be spent on. We’re looking to remove a wall or two within the main section of the building to expand our main seating room to allow more users within the group sessions that we have (Group Sessions can be found here).
The idea is to make the angled wall within our unit to be flattened out and straightened which will allow us to put another couch along the wall to allow more service users to come in and sit with the group as we have already outgrown the current room which we use.
Allowing to have this extra space and combine two rooms into one helps with being able to open the space up and offer more for our users along with being able to facilitate our users getting to and from the other room to access the kitchen etc. Whilst also still being part of the group discussion.
Thanks again to The Screwfix Foundation for providing us with the funding to get the ball rolling.

I will add a link to an updated post regarding our progress with the unit’s state.
Here is the updated post here to see what we’re doing with this funding.
